Hills mean runoff, erosion and tricky mowing. Here is how walls, terraces, groundcovers and drainage make a slope useful and stable.
Much of Middle Tennessee is rolling country, and many yards tilt toward the street, the back fence or a creek. A slope looks beautiful but brings real challenges: water runs fast, soil washes away, mowing is difficult and level space for living is scarce. A smart landscape does not fight the hill. It slows the water, holds the soil and creates level places where people can actually use the yard.
We study how water moves across the slope and plan from there. Terraces and retaining walls turn steep ground into usable levels, swales and drains carry runoff safely and deep-rooted groundcovers and grasses hold bare soil. Steps and paths make the yard walkable, and plantings are chosen to thrive on dry, sunny slopes or shady banks. We explain which steps fit your budget now and which can follow later, so the slope improves in stages.
