A careful look at soil, drainage, sun, utilities and access before any work starts, so surprises are found on paper and not in the yard.
Most landscape problems begin before the first plant goes in. Soft soil, hidden roots, a downspout that dumps onto the future patio, unmarked utilities and a gate too narrow for equipment all cause cracks, dead plants or an unhappy delay. A site evaluation finds these things first. For a Nashville lot with clay, a slope or fill soil, the evaluation is a small cost compared with the price of redoing work.
We walk the site with you and look at drainage, soil firmness and texture, grades, sun and shade through the day, existing trees and roots, utilities and access for crews and equipment. We probe soft spots, note where water collects and test soil where it matters. You receive a written summary of what we found, the risks and the steps we recommend, such as soil testing, regrading, a drain or a different layout. If the project needs an engineer or a soil test, we say so plainly. We also photograph conditions before work starts, which protects both of us if questions come up later.
We probe the ground and watch how water moves so the plan fits the site.
Light and existing trees decide which plants and layouts will work.
We note buried lines, gates and slopes that affect equipment and digging.
You receive a clear summary of what we found and what we recommend.
