Patio and Paver Planner

Enter patio size and material to see pavers or stone, base stone, sand and a suggested layout for a patio or walk.

These tools give planning-level estimates from typical values and the details you enter. They are not quotes, designs or engineering, and results depend on your actual yard, soil, sun, drainage, existing plants, weather and local rules. Only a yard visit can confirm what a project needs, and we give you a written scope and price before any work begins.

How it works

Four quick steps.

  1. 01

    Pick the material

Pavers, flagstone or a wall stone.

  2. 02

    Enter the size

Length and width of the patio or walk in feet.

  3. 03

    Add a waste allowance

Cuts and curves take extra material.

  4. 04

    Read the order

Pavers or stone, base stone, sand and a suggested edge.

Tips

  • The base matters as much as the stone. Most patio failures start under the surface.
  • Order extra pavers from the same lot so colors match later for repairs.
  • A patio should slope slightly away from the house so water drains.
Questions

About this tool.

How deep is the base?

Patios usually need four to six inches of compacted stone, and driveways need more. The tool shows a typical depth.

Why add a waste allowance?

Cuts, curves and breakage use more material than the flat area suggests.

Do I need an edge restraint?

Yes. A firm edge keeps pavers from spreading over time.

Is this an engineered plan?

No. It is a planning guide for conversations. Larger walls may need an engineer, and we say so.
